Introduction
My Name is Niels Achterhuis, technical translator of NMA Translations Ltd, based in the northwest of England
Early in 2004, after having performed many translations throughout the years in my engineering career, I formed NMA Translations Ltd, with the aim of providing quality technical translation services.
With my education and former career in process and project engineering providing a solid foundation, my specialisations are the following engineering/technical fields:
- Chemical
- Mechanical
- Automotive
- Aerospace
- Equipment and instrument manuals and software
I also translate general scientific and technical texts, and webpages. Translation and proofreading services are available in the following language pairs:
- English - Dutch

Standard practice of NMA Translations Ltd is that all texts translated into English are proofread before dispatch by my native English business partner, who also has several years of experience in industry and research.
To ensure consistency in my translations I use the latest Translation Memory tools.
My Professional Status
I am a graduate of the Institute of Technology in Enschede, the Netherlands and hold a BEng degree in Chemical/Process Technology, with specialisation in plastics and rubber technology.
I am a Corresponding Member of the American Translators Association

Your Company
Translating your important technical texts to the highest quality standards requires an indepth knowledge and understanding of the technical processes involved and the terminology used. I understand that terminology can often be unique to a singular company, therefore I use specialist translation software to ensure consistency when dealing with your specific company language, time and again.

Rates
The translation cost is based on the number of words in your document. All work is agreed and documented in advance and we always supply fixed quotations, upon having viewed the actual documents to be translated, before any work is carried out. This guarantees peace of mind for both parties.
